Paint Colors, asked May 18, 2010
Q: I’ve heard that neutral colors sell better. Should I repaint my house even if it helps give a “lived in” look? – Ed
A: There are some houses where rich/vibrant colors look great, but for the most part neutrals just appeal to more people. There is no best paint when you live in a house, but neutrals always seem to win out when you sell. Plus most neutrals are brighter and make rooms seem larger than they are. It’s always better to spend the money/time to freshen up your paint when you sell. It’ll save you time on market, get more showings and ultimately make you money. Don’t gamble and think that you’re the one person who will get lucky. A lot of people have to learn the hard way. Hope that helps – Aaron
